The first collection was designed not as a theme, but as a feeling. Cold mountain streams and well-worn gear. The mid-morning sun warming your cheeks. A sweet brandy old fashioned by the fire. The colors of a rainbow trout when it catches the light.
The memories of tying flies with your grandpa, digging fresh worms from the dirt, to the euphoria of reeling in the first catch of the day.
We can’t wait for you to meet our first collection. We hope these tiles bring you back to happy memories and simpler times.

Our Story
House Rules started after bedtime.
As a working mom, I’m not always able to go out and play mahjong with friends. So I taught my husband mahjong and we would either play “Siamese” or “Double-Bob” after the baby went to bed.
We love having a reason to put away our phones, turn the TV off, pour a drink and spend a little more time together.
When I looked around me, I couldn’t quite find a set that felt like us - something I loved aesthetically, but that the men in my life also enjoyed playing on. A tile that was equal parts masculine and feminine. A tile that would feel just as good in his hands as they felt in my hands.
So House Rules Mahjong was born.
